Alongside our production of Poulenc's Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Lyric are excited to present a pair of fabulous events celebrating the magic of French music.
Oboe Salon
One of Melbourne’s most iconic young musicians, oboist Jasper Ly will perform an eclectic program of music for oboe and piano. The program will include Poulenc’s haunting Oboe Sonata alongside works by Ravel and Piazolla as well as contemporary and popular music. This casual one-hour concert will allow you to grab a glass and explore this wonderful music in a relaxed environment.

Bedtime Stories
Tuck yourselves in with Dolly Diamond as she presents a very special program of French piano music. Pianists Simon Bruckard and Peter Toohey join forces to perform a program of beloved musical bedtime stories. You’ll have the sweetest of dreams with Faure’s delicious Dolly Suite (may or may not have been written for Dolly) and Ravel’s exquisite Mother Goose with sassy new narration from Melbourne’s Queen of Melbourne cabaret.
