OPERA DIRECTOR'S WORKSHOP

Lyric is committed to fostering the next generation of opera makers, not just singers but also designers and directors.

​

In 2016 acclaimed director Suzanne Chaundy and Artistic Director Pat Miller created a workshop for aspiring opera directors to allow them to experience and explore this complex and intoxicating art form. 

​

Participants undertake sessions with experienced opera directors, conductors, professional singers as well as invaluable networking time with other creative artists. Participants attend rehearsals and performances often with the chance to meet with creatives afterwards. The workshop also allows the participants to work with singers on a scene under mentor guidance, allowing them to safely explore the relationship between text and music, movement and design

To apply please submit a current resumé along with a brief statement of no more than 250 words on ‘why opera' and what you hope to gain from participation in this workshop.
