KIMBERLEY COLEMAN
Soprano
Kimberley is very excited to be involved with her second Lyric Opera of Melbourne production, having made her debut with the company last year as Cephise in the Baroque Opera Pygmalion. Following Pygmalion Kimberley appeared as Casilda in The Gondoliers with Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria, and in the chorus of Pagliacci with National Touring Opera, before heading off to Europe, having been fortunate enough to receive scholarships to perform and study at both the Lyric Opera Studio in Weimar, Germany, and the Trentino Music Festival in Mezzano, Italy, where she sang the roles of Zweite Dame, Micaela, and in the chorus of Der Fledermaus. Kimberley’s awards include being a finalist in the Welsh Male Choir Singer of the Year (2015), a semi-finalist in the Herald Sun Aria (2014, 2015), third place in the Armstead Singing Award (2015), and winner of the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition (2014).
Kim made her Lyric debut as Cephise in the 2016 production of Pygmalion and returns in 2017 as Lena in The Japanese Princess.
