EMILIA BERTOLINI

Soprano

Emilia is currently a student at the University of Melbourne, completing her honours year in Music with a Diploma in Italian. Emilia began her music education as a violinist and chorister and was introduced to opera at the age of 11 in the role of ‘young Alice’ in Victorian Opera’s production of Through the Looking Glass. Since then, Emilia has been involved in many productions with Victorian Opera including Sophie in The Little Sweep, Emmie in Albert Herring, Cherubino in The Parrot Factory as well as The Play of Herod and The Grumpiest boy in the World.

 

Emilia has taken part in numerous productions at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music including scenes from Cosi fan Tutte, as a soloist in a performance of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Vivaldi’s Gloria. Emilia was the 2017 recipient of the Murray Ormond Vagg Scholarship and an Opera Scholar’s Australia scholarship. Emilia has developed a love and fascination for the works of Francis Poulenc and is delighted to be making her Lyric debut in Les Mamelles de Tiresias.
