SABRINA SURACE

Soprano

Sabrina moved to Melbourne to pursue Post Graduate study at the Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Conservatorium. Since moving to Melbourne Sabrina has stared in various productions staged by the Melbourne Opera Company, VCA Opera Studio, Bel Canto Opera Co., Percy Grainer Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Melbourne & XL Arts as both soloist and chorister. Sabrina has won a variety of competitions and eisteddfods and has been a finalist in many

major singing awards in Adelaide, Melbourne, Queensland & Europe including the 3MBS Armstead Singing Award. She has undertaken Master Classes with Renata Scotto, Emma Matthews and Mitchel Piper.

 

In 2014 Sabrina traveled to Northern Italy for her first European operatic debut in The Cunning Little Vixen under the direction of Patrizia Di Paolo and Maestro David Jackson of the Metropolitan Opera Company. Sabrina has also branched out into Cabaret,

combining both opera, pop and musical theatre and has performed this unique style at DT’s and Kado theatre. In 2015 & 2016 Sabrina has performed the role of Valerie in an Australian adaptation of The Merry Widow, Patience in the G&S Society of Victoria’s Patience, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance with Waterdale Theatre Company, she also participated in an abstract project Vita Mors with Forest Collective, performed as a soloist in the G&S Society of Victoria’s annual

concert and performed the role of L’amour in Lyric Opera of Melbourne’s production of Rameau’s Pygmalion.

 

In late 2016 Sabrina traveled to China with The Australian International Opera Touring Company to perform in Mozart’s The Magic Flute as 1st Spirit and covering Queen of the Night. In 2017 Sabrina performed in a variety of recitals & concerts throughout Victoria including performing with Cabaret star Dolly Diamond and for the Austral Salon and German Society of Victoria.

Sabrina made her Lyric debut in Pygmalion and returns in the 2018 production of Poulenc's Les Mamelles de Tiresias.
