Rob is lighting and set designer based in Melbourne. He is resident designer for Melbourne Lyric Opera and Arts Events Australia and collaborates with a range of companies on national and international projects. Recent work includes Ned for Groaning Dam Productions, The Trouble with Harry for MKA/ Melbourne Festival, Passion for Life Like Touring, Pacific Overtures and Assassins for Watch This Productions, MKA’s Dogmeat, Iphigenie en Tauride for Lyric and Palace of the End for Dan Clarke/Theatreworks.   

 

His Green Room award nominations include best lighting on MKA’s Triangle, Watch This’ Pacific Overtures and MKA’s The Trouble with Harry.  Other work includes production and tour management for Marina Prior, Macy Gray and Chita Rivera. He has worked in teaching at National Theatre Drama School and currently mentors design students for Monash University. His lighting design work has been seen in Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, New York, New Zealand and Jerusalem.

 

Rob's designs for Lyric Opera include Trouble in Tahiti, Iphigenie en Tauride, The Tender Land, Stella and Pygmalion. Rob returns to Lyric in 2017 for lighting design on The Coronation of Poppea
