John is the Co-Creative Director of MKA: Theatre of New Writing and an emerging theatre director, producer
and dramaturg whose work has been seen in the UK, North America and Australia. John spent 2007-2011 in London on a grant from the Australia Cultural Fund, where he co-founded IronBark - commissioning, producing and presenting the best new Australian writing to UK audiences. John returned to Australia after being appointed the 2012 Director In Residence for the Bell Shakespeare Company. That year he was also a 2013 Critical Stages Resident at the Seymour Theatre Centre. Credits include MKA, Pantsguys, Red Stitch Actors Theatre, ENO, The Finborough Theatre, OVNV at The Old Vic, The Young Vic, Soho Upstairs, Theatre 503, Tamarama Rock Surfers, NIDA, Old Red Lion and Darlinghurst Theatre. He is a former Resident Assistant Director at the Finborough Theatre, holds an MA from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (RCSSD) and originally trained at NIDA. John has lectured at RCSSD, University of Sydney and NIDA, and currently lectures in Directing and Shakespeare at Monash University.
