ELIZABETH STANNARD-COHEN
Soprano
Elizabeth obtained her Bachelor of Music (Honours) from The Victorian College the Arts and continued her vocal studies in London and New York.
She has performed with various companies within Australia, Europe and North America. Roles with Opera Australia include Liu: Turandot, Musetta: La Boheme, Leila: The Pearl Fishers, Nella: Gianni Schicci, First Lady: The Magic Flute and Leonore: Fidelio. Productions with the Canadian Opera Company include Ortlinde: Die Walkure, Mimi: La Boheme, Senta: The Flying Dutchman, Brunnhilde: Siegfried.
Elizabeth performed Ariadne in Ariadne Auf Naxos with Victorian Opera and Gerhilde: Die Walkure in State Opera of South Australia’s acclaimed Ring Cycle. Elizabeth has also performed in recitals and festivals throughout Europe and North America.
Elizabeth made her Lyric debut in the 2016 production of Malcolm Williamson's Our Man in Havana and returns to Lyric in 2016 in the role of Drusila in Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea
