CATHY HUNT

Director

Cathy Hunt is a director and dramaturg, who trained at The Victorian College of the Arts. There she directed Crave and held a Creative Graduate Scholarship in 2014. 

Directing includes, most recently: Love/Chamberlain (Ralph Indie, Ainslie & Gorman) and The Super Queer Murderess Show (Melbourne Fringe 2017, Arts House). In 2016, Tiny Remarkable Bramble (Invisible Circus, KXT), Life Without Me (Illuminate Educate, Seymour Centre) and dramaturg/outside eye on site-specific work The One, Melbourne Fringe. In 2015, she directed and developed Steppe (Melbourne Fringe, Newport railyards) and co-devised Kafka Dances (Space Lab, Prague Quadrennial). With Bec Allen Cathy formed The Impending Room to direct Judith, 2011 and Dangerous Lenses, 2012, touring to Melbourne Fringe 2013 at The Substation.

Cathy completed a directors’ attachment on Fraught Outfit’s Book of Exodus Part 2 with Adena Jacobs in 2017. Upcoming works include Her Father’s Daughter, Hotel Now, Prahran Council Chambers, May 2018. 

Cathy took part in the 2017 Opera Director's Workshop and will make her company debut directing Poulenc's Les Mamelles de Tiresias in 2018.
